Part-time Inclusion vote RESULTS

• 78% of the bargaining unit members voted.

-85 full-time faculty members were eligible to vote

-66 full-time faculty members voted

-44 voted YES

-22 voted NO

• 51.7% of unit members voted for including part-time faculty in GCFA.

• 75 part-time faculty voted.
• (about 250 were eligible to vote)
• 88% of the 75 voters voted for including part-time faculty in GCFA.

NEXT STEPS:

1. A Constitutional Amendment must be proposed, and formal vote of unit members must be held with a 2/3 approval.  www.gavfaculty.com/Constitution/cotart11.html

2. Unit members must vote to establish " fair share" dues for part-time members.

3. A "card check" membership drive must be conducted within the part-time faculty; at least "50% plus 1" of all the part-time faculty of record must vote to join GCFA.

4. PERB and the District are notified of the unit modification, and only then is it official.
