Quick snapshot of 2006-07 Contract Improvements
- Agreement (Article 1.3): Contract extended through 6/30/2009.
- Association President (Article 6.11) release time increased to 40%; moved to Article 25.2.3 Other duty & compensations.
- Calendar (Article 14.3): 175 days; 10 flex days upon State approval.
- Holidays (Article 15.1): removed section of unpaid holidays.
- Unit vacancies (Article 17.2.2): clarification – “ a resume and completed application shall accompany a letter of intent to the appropriate vice president.
- Reassignments (Article 18.1, 18.2): clarifications, e.g. within the same FSA or to a different FSA.
- Office hours (Article 22.2): “Full-time faculty shall schedule, post and maintain a minimum of five (5) office hours per week to confer with students, four (4) hours on campus on the instructor’s class days, and one (1) hour to be arranged, with the prior approval of the immediate dean/administrator. Part-time faculty, and full-time faculty members who teach less than full-time shall hold the proportionate amount of full-time faculty office hours. Online instructors shall post and maintain their online office hours in proportion to their online workload.”
- Full-time faculty salary (Article 23.1.1):
- An increase of 1.23% growth over FY04/05, and 4.5% COLA over FY05/06.
- Step 22 added to Track II to Track V; no requirements.
- Part-time faculty salary schedule will be adjusted upwards by 1.23% growth over FY04/05, and 5% COLA over FY05/06 unit load.
- Hourly rates higher if divided by 16 week.
- A side letter on intent to move to 16-week divider.
- Additional duties/counselors/librarians/nurse at Lab rate.
- Meeting rate of $33 remains the same.
- Reduced workload (Article 24) revised to add the “Willie Brown” portion (50% reduced workload with full benefits and full STRS credit for faculty 55+) with the following restrictions:
- Two (2) faculty members at any time.
- Revoke by mutual agreement during the first year.
- Sunset by June 30, 2009 unless re-negotiated.
- The original article is retained, with application process streamlined – submit to dean, who will initiate the adm. process.
- Report sick leave by quarters of a day.
